Congratulations to Karen Sullivan and Jessica Dalton!
Launch the media gallery 1 playerAt the PSU Spring Nursing Banquet on April 5th, two Girard Medical Center (GMC) nurses received Outstanding Nurse Preceptor Awards for demonstrating clinical expertise and serving as role models, team players, unit leaders and teachers.
Karen Sullivan, a registered nurse on the GMC medical surgical unit, and Jessica Dalton, a registered nurse on the Intensive Care Unit, were nominated for the annual award, which honors nurses who have a distinct impact on the nurses they mentor. Awardees are nominated by undergraduate nursing students who are working on their clinical rotations. Sullivan’s and Dalton’s nominator, Melodee Nelson said, “Karen and Jessica both went above and beyond what was expected to maximize the nurses’ clinical experience. They always made us feel welcomed and were very kind and patient when training students.”
The nominations are reviewed by the PSU Nursing faculty and they choose the recipients.
Girard Medical Center is very proud of these two excellent nurses for being outstanding mentors!
