What does this surgery do?
The Sleeve Gastrectomy removes two-thirds of the stomach, which makes you feel fuller faster. It is a TOOL to initiate weight loss and improve overall health.

Why this type of surgery?
This surgery best applies to volume eaters as it restricts the size of the stomach, resulting in a lesser amount of food consumed at one time. Other types of surgery can cause a reduction of nutritional absorption or require a band which may slip or erode.
About Dr. Latchman:
Dr. Latchman received her bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in Miami, Florida and her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida.She completed her general surgery residency program at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York.She completed a fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Summa Health Care System in Akron, Ohio.
