Girard Medical Center Foundation Receives Pritchett Trust Grant to Purchase LUCAS Device for Emergency Department
Girard Medical Center Foundation (GMCF) is excited to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Pritchett Trust to assist with the purchase of a LUCAS® 3 Chest Compression System for Girard Medical Center’s Emergency Department. This critical life-saving device will significantly enhance the hospital’s ability to provide effective, consistent care during emergency resuscitations, benefiting the entire Girard and Crawford County community.
The Pritchett Trust, founded to improve the quality of life in Crawford County and Southeast Kansas, provides grants to support initiatives that directly benefit the region’s residents. The trust’s mission emphasizes investing in resources that enhance community well-being, and its generous contribution to GMCF is a testament to that commitment. By funding essential projects like this, the Pritchett Trust helps ensure that organizations like Girard Medical Center can continue to provide high-quality care and vital services to the local population.
The LUCAS® 3 Chest Compression System is a cutting-edge device that delivers consistent chest compressions during life-saving CPR. This technology will extend the capabilities of Girard Medical Center’s emergency team by freeing up staff members to focus on other critical aspects of care during resuscitation efforts. Additionally, the device ensures that compressions remain continuous and effective, regardless of fatigue, and can be safely administered during patient transport or other complex situations.
Girard Medical Center remains dedicated to improving the quality of life in Southeast Kansas through compassionate healthcare services. The hospital’s commitment to excellence, combined with the support of the Pritchett Trust, will enable GMC to serve the community better and provide peace of mind to residents in need of emergency care.
