Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services
Girard Medical Center (GMC) is proud to expand our Occupational Therapy (OT) services to better serve children, adolescents, teens, and infants in our community. Our Pediatric OT program is designed to support development, improve functional skills, and help children reach age-appropriate milestones through evidence-based, compassionate care.
Our experienced Occupational Therapy team works closely with families, caregivers, and referring providers to create individualized treatment plans that promote independence, confidence, and long-term success.

Fine motor coordination deficits (grasping, writing, hand-eye coordination)
-
Gross motor coordination deficits (balance, posture, coordinated movement)
-
Upper extremity weakness
-
Developmental delays impacting age-appropriate milestones
Reflex Integration
Our OT services address reflex integration needs that may impact a child’s ability to move, learn, and participate fully in daily activities.
Functional Skill Development
Occupational Therapy helps children improve skills needed for daily life, including:
-
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
-
Play skills
-
School-related functional tasks
Infant Developmental & Deformational Therapy
GMC Occupational Therapy is also introducing services for infants with developmental and deformational concerns, with a focus on early identification and prevention of long-term complications.
Infant Conditions We Address
-
Torticollis (tightness or imbalance in neck muscles)
-
Plagiocephaly (positional head shape concerns)
-
Developmental delays
Post-NICU infants are especially at risk for torticollis, plagiocephaly, and developmental delays. Early, preventative therapy and parent/caregiver education play a critical role in supporting healthy development during this crucial stage.
Our therapists work closely with parents and caregivers to provide education, positioning strategies, and therapeutic exercises that can be carried over at home.
Additional Occupational Therapy Services
In addition to pediatric services, GMC Occupational Therapy continues to accept referrals for patients with:
-
Generalized weakness

CVA (stroke)
